RE: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . .

You see a RV 3 miles ahead of you on the interstate and you speed up to 80 so you can see it up close.
You get back home and your wife asks you to shave after the fifth day.
You pass an RV on the road and in 5 seconds you determine the length of the rig and the tow rating of the tv.
You read 35 pages of a forum when you should be working.

I lost one my first trip out. Now I fold it, stuff it in a oversize platic bag and shove it under the fifth wheel hitch. Never moves.

RE: Camp Chef Stove

I think you'll enjoy all your new equipment! Labor Day would be a great time to bust them out and use them. Keep us posted on how you like them!
I really enjoyed both. Grilled salmon on the griddle and did short ribs in the roaster. Wish I would have had more time to try other dishes.

RE: New 08 Dually D/A

Go to "reese products". Search for 30035. That's all you need to enter. It will bring up the universal mounting kit(30035) which includes the 08 3500, that's what I have. It will also give you mounting instructions. Hope this helps.

RE: Campground Electricity

My thought is the surge protector cost me $395.00, a new Microwave/Convection Oven costs over $600.00 not counting the TV's and other items that I could lose in a power surge. The protector tests the circuit for 2 1/2 minutes and if it does not like the power it does not give the coach any power. If you are at a campground and it is hot and many are running A/C's and other cooling devices and power goes too low the surge protector shuts down the system prior to the voltage dropping where you could have a problem. I consider it worth the money and would not be withour my portable protector which of course could move with me if I was to trade into another coach that is why I chose portable vice hard wired.
Just my opinion your results may vary.
Described it perfectly, saved my electronics on more than one ocassion. I even use it when I boondock with my genset.

RE: Can NE1 tell me about Spinnaker by Cobra-Looking 4 a 5th-

I will tell you what little I know. Cobra was taken over by one or more of the exectives that ran it and formed Forest River somtime around 1998. When I bouhgt my Cardinal from Forest River (also a former Cobra brand Spinnaker was the top of the Forest River line. I would have to believe that it would have been for Cobra also. I really did't give you much help, but if it's in good shape and the price is right I think you will have a pretty dependable unit. Good luck.

RE: DUDE! Didja forget ya got a dually?

Looks like a moron who does not know how to park. He figures because he drives a big truck (and does not know how to park) he is entitled to more road space... A common problem with people who drive large pick ups.
More often than not.. the bigger the truck, the smaller the brain.
I drive about 300 kms a day in city traffic so.... if anyone wishes to dispute what I said... be ready to be proven wrong.
You must have a really large truck.

RE: 08 GMC

Well with the Employee pricing I'm looking at a 08 GMC DRW with the D/A.I currently have a 01 Chevy DRW 8.1 that pulls my Rapter very well, but I've been considering a Diesel for a long while. After pulling my Rapter from Md. to Myrtle beach and only getting between 6.2 and 7.5 MPGs (LEAD FOOT) I started thinking even harder about a D/A.What kind of MPGs can I expect out of this combo its a crew cab 3.73 rears? I like my Gasser but it also is getting a lot of miles on it and though diesel is higher I think except for the payment that its a good time to make the switch. What do ya think?
I made the move from a 2001 8.1 to a D/A DRW. I loved the 8.1, but no comparison to the D/A in pulling power or mileage.

RE: Camp Chef Stove

I just received my Camp Chef Ultimate Turkey Roaster and it has a steel heat difuser plate that came with it. I will be using a Camp Chef stove for cooking. Do I use the plate or just set the oven on the burner? This is all new to me and I could sure use some advice. Any other tidbits of information you care to share will be appreciated. Thnak You.

A 10,000 RPM rotisserrie may be a little too fast, especially for a big turkey.

Chevy/GMC specs for 3500 2008 crew cab model:
max payload SRW 3855
max payload DRW 4979
Why would anyone buy a DRW if he could't haul more wt?

RE: Camp Chef Stove

Glad to hear that the turkey roaster works good. When I logged on today it was with the intention to ask about it and low and behold there was a new thread on the subject. I bought a Camp Chef Big Gas grill with the BBQ box and I just ordered the reversible griddle and ultimate turkey roaster. Hope they get here in time for labor Day camping.
Thanks everyone.
